Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By using this website, or placing an order, we assume that you have read, understood and accepted the information below.
Orders
When you submit an order through this website, you will receive a confirmation email from Chrissie. This will be sent to the email address filled in at checkout. If you do not receive this email, it may have been stopped by your email server’s spam filter, so please make sure you check your spam or junk email folders. However, whether or not you receive this email, once it has been sent by us, a contract is deemed to be formed between you and Chrissie for the purchase of your item(s).
Chrissie will then prepare your order for shipping or collection within 7-28 days of your payment being confirmed. If she cannot fulfil your order for any reason, you will be offered a full refund and Chrissie will be in touch by email to make arrangements for this. Likewise, if your order will take longer to prepare than 7-28 days, she will contact you with an updated dispatch estimate.
If you have any queries about your order, please contact Chrissie by replying to your order confirmation email or via the form on the Contact page. If you wish to cancel your order and request a refund, this can only be done prior to dispatch, so please contact Chrissie asap if you wish to do this. Once your order has been dispatched, you can only request a refund if your situation matches the criteria specified in the Returns and Refund section below.
Payment
We use PayPal to handle the online payment for orders through this website. This means you can pay using a PayPal account or with a credit/debit card (which doesn’t require a PayPal account). Please note that the credit/debit cards accepted are dictated by PayPal, not by us, so if your card cannot be accepted by PayPal, you will need to choose an alternative payment method. Payment is to be made in GBP.
Delivery
Shipping
If you have chosen shipping for your order, it will be sent to you within 7-28 days. You will receive an email notification when your order has been dispatched. Prints are sent via Royal Mail. When you receive it after dispatch will depend on your location. In the UK, it will usually arrive within 3-5 working days; for other locations it will be longer. Paintings shipped to UK addresses will be sent by courier. Please note that original paintings cannot be shipped to addresses outside the UK (instead, you will be offered local pickup only – see below).
Local pickup
If you are buying an original painting and are located outside the UK – or have chosen local pickup at checkout for your prints – your order needs to be collected in person by you or your courier from The Chapel Gallery in Glasshouses, near Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, UK . This needs to be arranged by you and at your own cost. Please make sure you contact Chrissie to confirm collection arrangements so that your order can be packaged up ready and someone is available to hand it over to you or the courier. Chrissie is not responsible for any additional costs caused by you not liaising with her regarding the collection of the painting and it either not being ready or the gallery being closed.
Returns and Refunds
Paintings
Refunds are only eligible on paintings shipped by Chrissie to UK addresses, and damaged in transit. You cannot claim a refund on a painting that has been handled by your own courier. If your painting arrives damaged, please notify Chrissie within 48 hours of receipt by replying to your dispatch email giving details of what has happened. You must then return the painting to Chrissie within 14 days at your own cost. Once the painting has been received and checked, you will receive a full refund of the original cost within 28 days. It is at Chrissie’s discretion whether the return qualifies for a full refund.
Prints
If your print is faulty in any way or has been damaged in transit, please notify Chrissie within 48 hours of receipt by replying to your dispatch email. Please explain why you wish to return the item and whether you want a replacement or refund. You must then return the print to Chrissie in the original packaging within 14 days at your own cost. Once the returned print has been received and checked, you will be given a replacement (with free shipping) or a full refund within 28 days. It is at Chrissie’s discretion whether the return qualifies for a full refund or replacement.
Product Descriptions
We try to make sure that product descriptions and pictures are as accurate as possible. Sometimes mistakes are made and we will endeavour to correct these as soon as possible. We also reserve the right to alter or withdraw any product or part of this website at any time. However, we cannot be held responsible for the consequences of reliance on any information given through this website, now or in the past. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Enquiries or Complaints
If you have an enquiry or complaint regarding a purchase, please contact Chrissie. Chrissie will respond to your enquiry as soon as she can. But remember, she may be in the studio painting so please don’t expect an instant reply!
Website and Emails
Whilst we have measures in place to prevent this, we cannot guarantee that this website is virus free. Therefore, the use of the website is at the sole discretion of the user and we cannot be held responsible for any damage or losses caused by any subsequent virus or malware attacks.
All communications made in connection with this service will be sent by e-mail, including order and dispatch confirmation. For ease of use and compatibility, none of these emails will be sent in an encrypted form, meaning that they are not a fully secure. However, when any data is entered into the contact form on this website, the connection is encrypted, using an SSL certificate.
All data submitted at checkout is stored in a secure database, which can only be viewed by Chrissie and her team who log in to the website admin using a password. In addition, we do not communicate, store or retain any payment information. Instead, your payment details are submitted to PayPal via their secure portal and they have liability for losses or damage arising from this data being wrongfully accessed.
